Šilo is the largest village and the village with the longest tourist tradition in the Dobrinj Municipality on the island of Krk. It is a small, quiet seaside place with a long fishing tradition, only 20 km away from the Krk Bridge. It is picturesque situated in the very protected bay Stipanja, naturally enclosed by cape Punta Šilo. It lies in the immediate vicinity of Crikvenica and its Riviera, separated from it by the Channel of Vinodol. In the 1959. on the route Šilo-Crikvenica sailed the first ferry at our Adriatic coast. After the construction of the bridge instead of ferry boats on that line sail speedboats and smaller ships
